A series of ten €0,60 stamps commemorated the 150th anniversary of the Vatican daily newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano, first published on 1 July 1861. The stamps include the front pages of ten issues published in the year of a Papal election. The stamps include Leo XIII (1878), Pius X (1903), Benedict XV (1914), Pius XI (1922), Pius XII (1939), John XXIII (1958), Paul VI (1963), John Paul I (1978), John Paul II (1978), and Benedict XVI (2005). The newspaper is available in eight languages and will inaugurate a new website for its 150th anniversary.
