Codices Urbinates Latini 239

The 2015 Nativity stamps include miniatures from the Codices Urbinates Latini 239 (1477-1478), housed in the Vatican Library. A codice is a book with handwritten text and illustrations. The two stamps are printed in sheets of ten. The €0.80 value depicts the traditional Nativity scene with the Holy Family, a stable, animals, and angels. The €0.95 value focuses only on the Holy Family. The Italian countryside is depicted in the background. UFN also issued a four-stamp booklet of the €0.95 value in a folder with a design featuring angels against a starry background. The stamps are issued in sheets of ten.
