VPS member Dennis Oniszczak reminded us that Gabriel the Archangel is the patron Saint of stamp collectors, postal and telecommunication workers. Originally, Gabriel's feast day was on March 24th, the day before the Annunciation. However in 1969, after Vatican II, it was changed to September 29th so that the feast day would be together with the other archangels, Michael and Raphael. St. Gabriel is an angel who serves as a messenger for God to certain people. His biggest task was to announce to the Virgin Mary that she will conceive, bring forth a son, and He should be called JESUS.
