Recently we asked if anyone had a commemorative cover from the 1954 Vatican/Marian Exhibit head in Philadelphia. Well, VPS member Lou Giorgetti wins the prize for finding something I missed and it was right there in Vatican Notes. He found Greg Pirozzi 's Notable Postcard article on the 1954 Marian Year Expo (see article). Right there, at the bottom of the page, is a copy of the commemorative postcard from the exhibition. ![]() I have long ago let go of the notion that my skillset, first taught to me in the seventh grade, on how to do library research, is still up to date. Back in the seventh grade, if you wanted to know stuff from periodicals, you would go to the library and look in green paper-bound index books. The trick was to be the first to find something and conveniently misplace it in the library so your classmates couldn't find the great article you had located. Then, your book report would excel your classmates, you would have located that perfect piece of information that no one else would have in their report! Now, we just Google it on our computers or, for the Vatican Notes, use the VPS index found on the VPS Members page (click to see ). I admit that with my senior citizen age and limited online research skillset, I had only searched on the word "exhibit". I should have expanded my search and been a bit more patient to do a few more searches using different words. Yes, those extra clicks take a few more minutes! That's why Lou Giorgetti wins the prize and found the article! (No, he did not hide it in the library.) Congratulations Lou!! BTW: I no longer hide books in the library!
