![]() Towards the Holy Year 2000 (Scott 1113-1116, 1999): Deposition from the Cross Resurrection Pentecost The Last Judgement As we approach the upcoming Jubilee Year of 2025, it is appropriate to take a look back at the stamps issued in conjunction with the last Holy Year of 2000. On May 25, 1999, Vatican City issued four stamps, the last set in a series of stamps entitled Towards the Holy Year 2000. Each year, starting in 1995, stamps were issued depicting events involving Jesus Christ. A total of five sets of stamps, four stamps per set, were issued. These events were illustrated using illuminated manuscript pages focusing on, in the words of the UPN stamp release, meaningful episodes in the Mission of Our Lord Jesus Christ through the reproduction of precious old miniatures.
