King Jaime I conquered the city of Murcia, Spain, during the Mudéjar revolt of 1264–1266. He took the Great Mosque or Aljamía and consecrated it to the Virgin Mary. It is now named "The Cathedral Church of Saint Mary in Murcia". In May of 2024, I found the front facade covered for repairs. By clicking on the Wikipedia reference below, one can find a picture of the facade from 2022, prior to the start of the restoration work.
