Sometime ago, we published some notes on how to best read the Daily Emails on hand-held phones using the web page https://vaticanstamps.org/page3. This information can be found on the home page of the VPS website. For VPS members who have a smart TV with an internet connection (and computer mouse), there is a new option: http://vaticanstamps.org/page6. This webpage is especially designed for TV viewing of the Daily Email and Daily Question. It has a larger font size so that it can be viewed from your easy chair several feet from the TV screen. Testing of the screen has been done on a TV with attached mini-computer and wireless microphone. We were able to set up several Microsoft Voice Access commands so now major portions of the VPS website can be accessed by voice. Should anyone else try this, be sure to drop us a line and let us know of your experience with this new webpage. Surprisingly, a mini-computer for hook up to your smart TV can be purchased for less that $200. A wireless microphone, keyboard, and mouse can probably be purchased for less than $60. It would be fun the try setting this with some of the computer sticks seen on Amazon, but there are also more some stamps on my purchase list. This setup is also great for watching the VPS slideshows. Later this year we will be releasing some new VPS slideshows which will be great to watch on the home TV! |
