It would be thirty years from the time of the issuance of the stamps, postal cards, and aerogramme for the fiftieth anniversary of the signing of the Lateran Pacts until the next remembrance of the establishment of the Vatican City State. That occurred for the 80th anniversary in 2009. On February 10, a set of seven stamps and a souvenir sheet were issued to commemorate the anniversary. As with the set from 1979, the stamps pictured images of the each of the seven popes that served as pontiff since the establishment of the Vatican City State in 1929. The souvenir sheet shows a map of the Vatican entitled "Civitas Vaticana--New Map of Vatican City", an etching from 2007 by G. Greco, P. Isola and P. DiSciullo:

On November 21, 2014, the annual set of postal cards from the Vatican depicted the 85th anniversary of the establishment of the Vatican City State. The cover of the set, shown below, once again displays a view of Vatican City. The four post cards each contain the portraits of two of the eight popes who have reigned since 1929: Pope Pius XI and Pope Pius XII (€0.70 card), Pope John XXIII and Pope Paul VI (€0.85 card), Pope John Paul I and Pope John Paul II (€2.00 card), and Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis (€2.50 card).
