Vatican Stamp Day
October 19, 2024

VPS Website Team

It is hard to believe that our upcoming Vatican Stamp Day is just over one month away, on Saturday, October 19 from noon to 5 pm. The event is being held at the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History, on the campus of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts.

The Team has put together some truly wonderful material for the day. There will be a slide show program that will run continuously during the course of the event, featuring an array of topics tied to Vatican philately. In addition, the Museum has granted us access to the treasure trove of Roman States and Vatican City material in its Vault, and we have put together some really unique exhibits for viewing in the main Museum Gallery. Members of the VPS Website Team will be on hand to meet and greet fellow VPS members, as well as members of the Museum and folks from the general public attending the event. We hope to educate and inspire collectors and non-collectors on the wonderful aspects of Vatican City philately.

Following the event, we are planning a dinner for VPS members and guests at a local restaurant. It will be a great way to cap off the day and enjoy some time together. There will be more details to come regarding the location.

If you are planning to come to Vatican Stamp Day, please contact Lou Giorgetti at lfg7187@comcast.net. We would like to get a general idea regarding the number of folks who are planning to come to the event, as well as those who would like to come to dinner so reservations can be made.

We are really excited about Vatican Stamp Day, the first live event sponsored by the Vatican Philatelic Society in quite some time. We think we have a great program on tap, and we are looking forward to seeing you at Spellman!
