![]() 44th International Eucharistic Congress Seoul, South Korea Scott 838-841 (1989) The 44th Congress, convened from October 4–8, 1989, in Seoul, South Korea, had the theme of “Christ is our Peace”. Pope John Paul II attended the Congress, and held a Mass presented entirely in Korean on the final day.

![]() 45th International Eucharistic Congress Saville, Spain Scott 927-930 (1993) The 45th International Eucharistic Congress was the first post-Cold War Congress, and was held in Seville, Spain from June 7-13, 1993. Pope John Paul II addressed the Congress and stated: "I hope the fruit of this congress results in the establishment of perpetual Eucharistic adoration…throughout the world."

![]() 46th International Eucharistic Congress Wrocław, Poland Scott 1045-1049 (1997) Pope John Paul II returned to Poland to attend the 46th Congress, held from May 25 to June 1, 1997, in Wrocław. This was his seventh trip to Poland as pontiff. The theme of the Congress was “Freedom as Reflected in the Eucharist”. ![]() 47th International Eucharistic Congress Rome, Italy Scott 1165 (2000) The 47th Congress, held in Rome from June 18–25, 2000, was the third Congress celebrated in Rome, and coincided with the Holy Year of 2000. This was the first Congress to be celebrated in a Jubilee Year.
![]() 48th International Eucharistic Congress Guadalajara, Mexico Scott 1284-1285 (2004) Held in Guadalajara, Mexico, from October 10–17, 2004, the ailing and aged Pope John Paul II was too ill to attend. However, the final Mass of the Congress, held in the Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, featured a live link to a simultaneous Mass at St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, in the presence of the pope.
