 Vatican Stamp Day at the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History is fast approaching! This event will be held in the main gallery of the Museum on Saturday, October 19, 2024, from noon until 5 pm. The VPS Website Team and the Museum's Executive Director, Brian Howard, and his team, have planned an event that we hope will be fun and educational for stamp collectors and postal historians, as well as for non-collectors from the general public. We want to expose folks to the beauty and history of Vatican philately and fulfill the Museum's mission to reach out to the general public. The gallery will house a number of exhibits featuring a full range of topics related to the Vatican and the stamps and postal history of the Roman States and Vatican City. A slide show presentation is being planned to run during the event to review many aspects of Vatican philately as well. With the Vatican Stamp Day exhibition being held in the main gallery of the Museum, attendees will also be able to view a wide variety of country-specific and topical exhibits. Following the event, we are planning a dinner for VPS members and guests at a local restaurant. It will be a great way to cap off the day and enjoy some time together. We are really excited about Vatican Stamp Day, the first live event sponsored by the Vatican Philatelic Society in quite some time.
